Portuguese Freedom Day

Today, April 25, it´s an important national holiday. We celebrate the Freedom day.
Before April 25 of 1974, in Portugal, we didn´t have freedom of speach. The media was censored and anyone who expressed ideas against the government could be arrested and tortured by the police (PIDE).
Thirty five years ago, in April 25, some members of the national army started a revolution, called "Revolução dos Cravos" that changed this oppressiveness.
Cravos are the flowers in the picture above and for us they´re a symbol of this day.
